Just earmarking an idea that I had, so that one day I might actually implement it.
Podcasts are audio broadcasts that are published on websites. They get auto-magically sucked in via itunes so that people can listen to them rather than listen to the thousands of songs they already have on their iPods. I'm not terribly sure about this, but I have a feeling that other portable music player platforms support podcasts as well.
Anyhow - on to my idea...
My idea is to read a featured article, or even multiple articles weekly on a given website. Record the reading onto mp3, publish the file and voila - a podcast is born. I don't have the most engaging voice in the world, but if people are coming in to one of my sites to read the articles, it makes sense to push the data out to them so they can experience my sites in the most convenient manner possible.
Once I have a regular publication schedule in place for ANY site, I think I might look forward to accomplishing this. Until then, feel free to steal my idea - but let me know how it works out for you.
