I was reading through one of my favorite resources - the Digital Point Forums when I ran across a listing of free press release sites. Looking through the list, I can see that not all of them are free because I've visited those sites before.
However, the list is a pretty long one, and it would be worth it to work my way through the list and revise it according to my own desires and uses.
Right now, the list looks as it did when I found it at Digital Point. At a later date, I'll come back and revise this posting as I visit each of the sites myself and can make my own reviews and ratings.
I'll tell you right now that PRWeb is one of the best resources, and they are corporate cousins with PR Newswire, PR Web Direct, and emediawire. Looking at pressflash.com - which was an affiliate link on the list originally (I've removed it), it looks like they are an agency working with actual wire services like PRWeb. They don't actually have any releases on their site, which I find very strange. They are still listed though, because I only glanced at their site long enough to figure out if the link in the list itself was an affiliate link. I don't mind using affiliatelinks, and actually I prefer to shop through affiliate programs if someone I know is a member, but I think this one was placed inadvertantly since it's against the Digital Point TOS to post affiliate links.
