Super Magnets

Somehow I always end up excited about a site that spells out how much of a nerd I really am deep down inside. I was looking around United Nuclear today and found a couple of things that were really hard not to buy.

I love this quote:

If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet. If you get caught in between the two, you can get injured.

Another warning for the same group of products -

Two Super magnets can very easily get out of control and break fingers and even your arm if opposing poles fly at each other. If working with multiple Supermagnets, always handle one magnet at a time, secure it, then proceed to the next

Those kind of warnings really make me want to buy one. If only it wouldn't completely ruin my life to have one of those things somewhere in the house. I can imagine accidentally leaving my laptop too close to that thing. The magnets are rated N45 - which is as high as the scale gets. The most expensive of the bunch is $200 for a 3 inch by 2 inch disc.

The other cool thing I spotted there was magnetic liquid. $3 for 4 Mililiters or $65 for a 175ml bottle - which still isn't a lot, but magnetic liquid? Way too cool. I'm getting it to teach the kids science honey :)
