Several weeks back, my external drive started acting a little funky and gave itself a new drive letter. Since then, I moved all of those files over to a network drive on a samba share. This was part of a much bigger project, so I never really bothered fixing iTunes.
When I did finally get around to trying to get my music working again, I found that it's not intuitive, but it's not at all that difficult.
